I'm am so sorry to hear about Tommy. He was the nicest guy ever. He and I grew up together on 248th street playing all kinds of sports in the street, touch football (Tommy was a terrific receiver), Stoopball & Punch ball . My condolences to his family! FDNY and 248th street have now lost one of their best!!

This is devastating news. I met Tom walking my dog down 248th street. He always made a point to say hello and chat about the Jets, Knicks, our dogs. Such a nice guy. My dog walks will never be the same. RIP my friend. I will miss you.

Tom Hoey was like an uncle to me on 248th street in little neck. He was always there for you when you needed him and he truly kept our block together. He will be dearly missed.

Our deepest and sincerest condolences to the Hoey Family. We have had the pleasure to be touched by all that is good and genuine in this world by Tom. He never stopped laughing, never stopped giving, never stopped loving. You have our deepest sympathy, Pat.

We are so sorry for your loss. We never met Mr. Hoey but we recently spoke with Lauren about him and he seems like a wonderful man. Lots of love to you all during this trying time.

Our condolences to the Hoey family. Tommy was a terrific and caring man who was always ready to help anyone who needed. His smile will always be remembered. He will be missed by many and may he rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to Tommy's family and all of the Hoey clan. After hearing about Tommy's passing I spent the day reflecting on all of the times at Granny's house and playing in the backyard; climbing the fence to the Smith's; Uncle Gene and his stupid jokes. I remember always the saying the Little Neck Hoeys are here. Prayers and love for all!
