Carolyn Elizabeth Walsh, 58, of Bayside, Queens, passed away on April 17th, 2024 after being admitted to Flushing Hospital Medical Center the previous day.
Carolyn was born on July 12th, 1965 to Paul Walsh and Marci Raggland in Flushing, Queens. She grew up in Glen Cove and Bayside. She graduated with an associate’s degree from Queensborough Community College (QCC) in 1998. Carolyn also graduated from SUNY College at Old Westbury with a Bachelor’s degree in 1999. Furthermore, she earned a Master’s of Business Administration from Saint John’s University in 2001.
After graduating, Carolyn began teaching business courses at SUNY Farmingdale as an adjunct professor. She also taught business courses at QCC, her alma mater, starting in 2018. She worked as a college professor for over 21 years until her death.
Carolyn met the love of her life Robert LaGrotta at Bayside Volunteer Ambulance. A few years later, they got married in June of 1994 and had a strong and loving marriage. Carolyn and Robert have two children, Vincent and Andrew.
Carolyn loved taking walks outside, reading books and watching movies. Books on personal finance were her favorite, and she amassed a sizable collection in the family library.
